Creation of the peri-urban refuge # 2 Le Hamac , a work / refuge designed by Bruit du frigo as part of the artistic project of the Periurban Refuges .

Located on the edge of the woods, near the old castle of Mandavit in Gradignan, Le Hamac presents itself as a contemporary folly leaving nothing to guess at its true function. Its angular shapes and bright yellow color stand out to the visitor and contrast with the classicism of the park. Although inspired by the shape of a hammock, its equivocal silhouette leaves the field open to the imagination. Some see it as a chrysalis or a banana, others still an object from elsewhere ... The Hammock combines two separate twin spaces and offers users the choice between two sleeping experiences: on the one hand the reassuring comfort of a shelter or on the other, the mysterious charm of a night under the stars. The interior part, entirely dressed in wood, consists of three shelves arranged in steps on which are built-in double beds. Six windows adjusted to the mattress level allow you to keep an eye on the outside, park side and forest side. The outer part is a steel cage in which three catamaran-type nets are stretched. Both outside and inside, exposed and protected, this atypical space opens up to other appropriations during the day. Children, in particular, make it a real playground.
