I would like to work in the workshop. How to do ?

You must have a professional activity in the field of visual arts, architecture, design or scenography.

You can then make an appointment with Théo, workshop manager at sculpture.club@zebra3.org

After a first discussion to assess your needs and answer your questions, you will receive by email a link to an online form that you will complete in order to become a member of the workshop. You can then reserve a space at sculpture.club@zebra3.org

Access to the spaces is subject to prior use of the tools with Theo, in order to check your level of autonomy or to determine a need for additional training.

Digital tools are not accessible independently.

For each new project, you must reserve a workspace by first checking its availability with Jérémy, technical director or Theo.

What does it mean to be a member of the workshop?

By becoming a member of the workshop, you have access to the spaces and production tools at a cost. You can also participate in the association's annual general assembly, and stand for election as a member of the association's board of directors as a representative of the workshop members.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

What are the opening hours to come to work?

For information or to register, you can go from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can come and work in the same time slots. We are thinking about an operating method that will soon open up new time slots in the evenings and weekends.

How can I benefit from the free workshop in 2021?

In 2021, in solidarity with the current context, access to the workshop and to so-called “traditional” tools is exceptionally free for artist-authors. By artist-author we mean any natural person who can prove that they have registered with the Maison des Artistes.

Free admission implies the same conditions of access and usual use of the workshop, subject to the availability of spaces and tools. It does not concern the use of digital machines, ovens, and the help of an assistant who remain subject to pricing (see price list).

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

Why this price difference between artists and architects, designers, scenographers?

The heart of Zébra3's associative project is support for visual artists. The latter do not benefit from the same sector economy as these other professions. The prices are therefore adapted to support the professional structuring of their activity.

I am not an artist, architect, designer or scenographer. Can I still come and work in the workshop?

The production workshop is a tool of the Zébra3 association, the main purpose of which since its creation has been to support plastic artists. The workshop is suitable for the creation of unique works, prototyping or unique experimental objects. It is therefore primarily open to artists. The workshop is however accessible to related activities of artistic creation (architecture, design, scenography) because it is a place conducive to the intersection of these creative practices, and recognizes a real benefit in the meeting of these within it.

The workshop is therefore not open to wood or metal craftsmen or creators of serial objects.

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

I have never used machines or tools. Can I come and work in the workshop?

Work in the workshop is done independently. If your production requires the use of machines or power tools, it is best if you are already familiar with their use.

You can ask for the help of an assistant (see price list) or we can organize an initiation session with you (on estimate). More comprehensive training will soon be scheduled to help you discover or better master the machines and tools in the workshop.
