Studio Weave - Le Haut Perché , Peri-urban Refuge # 9 - 2017
E study and production - Mill Moulinat Bois des Sources, Le Haillan
The Peri-urban Refuge Le Haut Perché is located in a small clearing in the hollow of the Bois des Sources, in the Parc de Jalles.
Here, water is omnipresent: the jalle flows peacefully and the place is one of the main collection sites for drinking water in the metropolis and the underground cavities are full of drinking water.
Imagined by Studio Weave , the refuge, all in curves and carried by a system of arches, evokes the slender silhouette of water towers. It is built by the river and adds an airy note to the two old buildings that shaped this place: the water mill and the miller's house which now houses the Cistude Nature association.
Accessible by a Japanese ladder and designed as an observatory with multiple aims, it frames, through its subtly positioned windows, views plunging down on the jalle, grazing towards the horizon or even fleeing towards the sky ...
